Ideology

The media and social institutions play a large role is the dissemination of ideologies. Ideologies have shaped us to think a certain way without us even knowing it because it is all psychological, so there for not questioned. For us to critique these ideologies we need to look at the media as an institution. The media has shaped us all to think, see, and do things a certain way and there for has shaped our realities. We do things everyday that we don’t even know. When we go to the movie theater we “need” to get popcorn and a soda. When we go to a concert we “need” that T-shirt or poster. We don’t need any of these things we are just conditioned to believe we do. Ideologies have shaped our way of thinking and the way we see the world. So we will never know if what we do is because we want to do it or because we were “told” to do it or think it.
